SkilCheck Services distinguishes itself in the mystery shopping industry by employing professional, in-house evaluators who assess and score your telephone mystery shops. Our shoppers do not grade your phone evaluations. Our SkilCheck evaluators receive extensive training from Carol Mixon and are regularly updated on our clients’ expectations through our storage training platform. I used to be a Retail Buyer and am still intensely interested in shopping and always stay informed about the latest store trends. I enjoy observing people and discovering the styles that are currently popular. After getting married and having a baby, I started engaging in retail mystery shopping, which led me to spend a lot of time at the mall. This experience has connected me to what’s happening in the retail world.
I love my evaluator role because it lets me stay in tune with people and understand how things should be done. I am very focused on these aspects.
Additionally, I enjoy dining out frequently. During the day, when I’m not busy working, I go shopping, and at night, regardless of my workload, I always make it a point to go out for dinner.
I want to be a healer. To create positive change, especially concerning people’s health, we should step back and allow them to live their lives to the fullest. I see that there is much to heal in our world. However, I believe some aspects of health are often taken for granted. There are indeed approaches and solutions that can help people. While I’m not entirely sure how to achieve this, I aspire to work towards it.
I love all the Housewives shows and am a huge fan of General Hospital. A channel I really enjoy is HGTV, mainly when they feature shows about looking for properties, like House Hunters and My Lottery Dream Home. I’m really into those programs. It relates to my interest in the value of things and what they offer. This connects back to my experience in retail, where I stay attuned to what buyers are looking for.
I wouldn’t say it’s hidden, but many people come to me for help when they’re looking for something because they know I will search thoroughly. I strive to find the best solution, and while it might take a little longer, I want to ensure that what I find is right for me.
For instance, my daughter recently moved to the city, and we needed some
furniture assembled. We used TaskRabbit, a fantastic website listing numerous people offering services. You input your needs, and they provide availability, rates, and reviews. After some time, I found it mind-boggling that some could charge $90 per hour while others charged $40 or $50. Of course I didn’t want anyone to take advantage of us, especially when paying by the hour, as it’s hard to know what you’re getting.
So, I conducted extensive research and chose someone on the lower end of the pricing spectrum but with excellent reviews. He turned out to be fabulous. I explained to him that the time I spent researching didn’t matter; what mattered was that I made the right decision. Afterwards, I felt accomplished approaching the situation; whether it was for me or someone else, it was the right choice.
I approach my work with the same dedication when working with SkilCheck; always wanting to do my best and refusing to cut corners because I know it won’t yield good results. That’s why I feel that my personality aligns well with the company. We need to focus on what is available in the market and what customers are looking for in order to provide exemplary service. My skills and attention to detail are an excellent fit for SkilCheck.
If I were still in California, I would still be volunteering at the wolf sanctuary I used to help. Aside from that, I would probably just be playing games. Family game night is a regular occurrence for us. We might play the same game each time, but something about that experience allows you to escape from everything happening outside of life. It’s right here, and it feels almost calming and therapeutic. We play Sequence a lot; it’s a fun game and offers a different experience each time.
Knowing what I do allows me to say, “Hey, you’re doing a great job, but there might be ways to improve.” Recently, I was speaking with Carol about my experience working with wolves. I include a saying at the end of my emails: “The strength of the pack is in the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is in the pack.”
If we apply this concept to a business environment, we can see that the employee’s strength is in the employer, and the strength of the employer is in the employee. We can achieve the best results when everyone collaborates and participates in cross-training.
Deserted island. Imagine no one around, my chef, a personal maid, and a daily massage. I genuinely enjoy island life, although I also appreciate a cozy cabin.
Have you ever been to Laguna Beach? It’s a wonderful place. I consider a resort in Laguna Beach called Montage my sanctuary. Their beach is my sanctuary. It doesn’t matter if it’s crowded, if there’s no one there, or even if it’s a rainy day; I love it all. It’s a sanctuary for me.
Relaxing, meditative music by Raimy Salazar and his brother Carlos Salazar is perfect. Their Native American and Ecuadorian music truly stands out. Often, they sing in their native tongue, and while it sounds like Spanish to me, it has roots in Aztec culture.
Additionally, there’s Michael Beignet—his one CD, titled “Harmony,” never fails to move me every time I listen to it.
I’d love to be invisible, like a fly on the wall, or teleport!
